SRM - What Can We Do For You?

Renewable Energy – Sustainable Design

Renewable energy is now a major focus for governments, businesses and the world at large. Climate change, peak oil and gas create concerns for fuel security and price stability. The scale of the problem is substantial, and Renewables will in no way be the panacea for diminishing fossil fuel reserves. Renewables does however have a significant role to play and in encouraging and supporting this sector, an attractive opportunity has developed for farmers and landowners to become energy generators. Income from energy generation is effectively derived from ROCs and FITs (financial incentives to generate renewable electricity) and the sale of electricity and heat.

Likewise property developers and owners have much to gain from including sustainable design at the centre of their projects both from a planning and commercial standpoint. Retrofit will become increasingly important if significant savings in carbon are to be achieved from the UK’s housing sector.

The SRM team provides independent advice. We will help identify the opportunities, assess the suitability of various options both from a technical and financial perspective. We deal with the regulatory issues including planning, ofgem and the environment as well as identifying the options for funding – including grants. Having arrived at a project specification we will recommend technology providers and continue to work with you through delivery and installation to commissioning.
