Eco-congregation provides a framework to help churches start thinking about how to weave environmental issues into all that they do. It covers three main areas of church life: worship, practical things, reaching out to the local and/or global community. The process begins with a simple check-up, from which a congregation can draw up an action plan. Resources are available to help the church implement the plan. Once the church has made significant progress in the three main areas of church life, it can apply for the Eco-congregation Award.
